Happy New Year!

As we start a new year, it’s natural to feel motivated and inspired to make changes in our lives. But let’s be real, a new year isn’t really a new year unless we actually take the steps to create new habits and make meaningful changes.

It’s easy to get caught up in the hype of a fresh start and make grandiose resolutions that we think we can accomplish in a year. But as Bill Gates famously said, “Most people over estimate what they can do in a year but under estimate what they can do in ten years.” I would add that people also often overestimate what they can achieve in a year, but don’t take the necessary steps to make significant changes within a shorter time frame, like 3-6 months.

So, what does this all mean? It means that motivation and inspiration are great, but they won’t get us very far unless we put in the practice and work to create new habits. And it’s important to remember that we don’t need a full year to make meaningful changes in our lives.

With that said, here are a couple things I am planning on doing for my wellness this year.

  • I will focus on creating less inflammation in my body by eating an anti-inflammatory diet and incorporating more physical activity into my routine.
  • I will also be more focused on gut health and hydration, as these are both important for overall health and well-being.
  • In addition to taking care of my physical health, I will also be making sure to prioritize my mental health. I will have scheduled, non-negotiable times for self-care, including regular full body waxing, facials, monthly massages, and therapy. Taking time for ourselves can be really beneficial in helping us feel refreshed and rejuvenated.
